DESCRIPTION
NR is an annual electronic publication of the Department of Social Anthropology and History of the University of the Aegean.
The aim of the journal is to host the work of junior/young researchers on topics and disciplinary fields that are taught in the department and are part of the social sciences agenda more broadly (social anthropology, history, linguistics, philosophy, and more). Junior/Young researchers are thereby given the opportunity to present their work and get acquainted with the work of their peers. This editorial initiative is a continuation of the Department’s annual meeting of doctoral candidates, which has completed more than thirty years of operation, and aspires to respond to the need of young researchers for scientific communication and dialogue. In this context, PhD candidates from Greece and abroad have the opportunity to exchange experiences, ideas and research proposals and benefit from the ongoing discussions and the comments of the Department’s teaching staff and other scientists present who are there to support and comment on the presenter’s research and writing efforts, based on bibliographic, archival or field research. The journal hosts papers written by PhD candidates who have participated in the annual meeting, as well as by graduates of the Department’s postgraduate programs. A condition for the publication of the submitted texts is the agreement of the scientists to whom their review is assigned.
