Τhe course introduces students to the relationship between feminism and political philosophy, highlighting gender relations through the question of relations of political power and the pursuit of equality, freedom and justice. The main traditions of feminist political philosophy are presented: liberal feminism and the claim to equal rights, socialist feminism with emphasis on work, family and social reproduction, radical feminism and the critique of patriarchy, as well as contemporary feminisms that place difference and identity at the center through the multiplicity of experiences of oppression. The course shows that feminism is not merely a specific field of application of political philosophy, but reshapes its central concepts themselves: citizen, rights, public sphere, autonomy.
