The annual meeting of doctoral candidates has been organized by the Department of Social Anthropology and History of the University of the Aegean since the late 1980s. Doctoral candidates from Greece and abroad come together to exchange and discuss ideas and thoughts, in a dynamic transnational environment, on social anthropology, history, linguistics and other scientific disciplines. During the annual meeting doctoral candidates are given the opportunity to present new and ongoing research, to receive fruitful comments by members of the TKAI teaching staff as well as other scientists, and to engage in inspiring discussions on anthropological, historical, linguistic and other scientific topics. In addition, new researchers get the chance to socialize with other fellow researchers from other institutions and take part in equally interesting informal discussions.
