The course offers an introduction to the Didactics of the Social Sciences, approaching it as an interdisciplinary field. Within the framework of the course, issues such as the role of the teacher, the understanding of the classroom context, the design and implementation of educational practice, methodological choices, and modes of assessment are explored. Special attention is given to the curricula of the social sciences, with an emphasis on secondary education, as well as to the need for teachers to adopt a reflective stance in order to continuously refine their planning and practices. The contribution of Social Anthropology to the teaching of social sciences constitutes a central axis of the course. Fundamental anthropological concepts and methodological tools are examined, contributing to the deconstruction of ethnocentric narratives, the cultivation of intercultural awareness, and the use of ethnographic methods to understand the social and cultural context, highlighting its significance for the experiences of the school community’s members.
