Dimitra Vassiliadou is Associate Professor of Social History at the University of the Aegean and the Principal Investigator of the “Brutal Intimacies. A History of Rape in Modern Greece, 1900s-1960s” research project, funded by the Hellenic Foundation for Research & Innovation (2021-2023). She is the author of the book «The Tropic of Writing. Family Ties and Emotions in Modern Greece, 1850-1930» (Gutenberg 2018, in Greek) and the co-editor of three collective volumes on the history of gender, masculinity and sexuality respectively. She has worked extensively as an individual researcher, in cooperation with other historians, and as a member of large multidisciplinary teams. Her research interests include gender history and especially masculinities, the history of sexuality and sexual violence, family history, the history of nervous disorders, and the history of emotions.
